Where to eat in Bologna, 3 typical trattorias

Bologna, three typical trattorias where you can eat traditional Emilian and Bolognese dishes in particular. Here are the tips from those who have tried them and were satisfied with them, the reviews in the post.

To eat badly a Bologna you really have to commit. Bologna is the city of food, of the taverns and good wine and since for me dining out is not just eating but also spending a convivial evening and a moment of leisure for the palate and for the people, I will show you three of my favorite typical restaurants, where to eat well, be well and spend the right amount. Otherwise even the best fillet remains on the stomach if you have been plucked. I will start from three typical taverns in the heart of the beautiful and evocative Bolognese historic center.

Trattoria da Gianni

Perhaps my first discovery as an acquired Bolognese, the Trattoria da Gianni, it is a point of reference to satisfy every stomach eager for typicality. A stone's throw from Piazza Maggiore, in Via Clavature, just go down a small lane and you find yourself in an intimate but refined environment, really nice waiters who always remember you, service in hand but impeccable, and a chef with truly golden hands.

Here you can enjoy the classics tortellini lasagne, from boiled meat to Bolognese fried food, from tagliatelle to cutlet, without forgetting culatello, lardo and squaquerone. Ask for a mixed starter, choosing in this case is too difficult.
One more tip, they have a fabulous Lambrusco, a must try.
Average price per person, including wine, between 25 and 35 €.

Trattoria della Santa

Number two in my ranking, but certainly not for less goodness, is the Trattoria della Santa, located in Via Urbana, perhaps a little niche compared to the most popular Bolognese restaurants. Here, too, the cuisine respects the Emilian tradition, the tagliatelle with ragu or with porcini are strictly homemade, the fillet of beef with balsamic vinegar is intense and tasty. The chicory sautéed with garlic and chilli pepper is incredible and to taste, you will be amazed and you will order a second dish.

It is a decidedly easy going restaurant, ideal for going there with family or friends. The furniture is old style, in the less stylish sense of the term, but you will be fine, I guarantee you.
Average price from 20 to 30 € each.

Osteria i Trebbi

Last of the three, theOsteria i Trebbi, in via Solferino, is a tavern founded in 1946, suggestive and intimate. A particular detail: the tables in the restaurant were painted by the artist Andrea Beccilieri.
The cuisine here is invariably Bolognese too tortelloni with pumpkin, friggione, tripe, lasagna and an ever-present vegetable buffet in all versions. A gem in this case is for me beef tartar, served in a giant dish (not the usual miniature tartare) and topped with raw egg, spices and sauces to taste.

The quality of the food is excellent, the tradition is felt in the scents and in the spirit, the prices are low, from 20 to 30 € each.

What can I say, go there. In all three, I recommend.
In Bologna, the search for the perfect restaurant is a mission.
