Osteria L'Arcaden in Arnad, long live the lard

A food and wine stop that can interest everyone is located at arnad. Here those who have a weakness for lard will be fascinated.

In addition to shopping for fresh products, you must first have lunch at theOsteria L'Arcaden, in the Champagnolaz hamlet. Keeping Arnad behind you and staying on the SS26, continuing to Turin and before an overpass, you will find the indication on the left: for safety I called anyway, because the places available are always limited.

The attentive and kind staff made me sit at my table, informing me about the courses set menu Aosta Valley (€ 14 per person): mixed cold cuts and various vegetables, cheeses, polenta and sausage or cotechino and potatoes, spelled or chestnut soup; cover charge is excluded (€ 1), water (€ 1,50), extra sorbet (€ 2) and coffee (€ 1,10 at the table). If the place is always full, there must be a reason.
A short distance from the tavern I was able to shop for cheese (sacrilege not to do it) at an Evancon Dairy, via Nazionale 7 - Arnad: it is a cooperative always located on the SS26, therefore convenient and visible.

As they are the direct producers, the average of various cheeses is € 9 per kg: you will be spoiled for choice, if you love this product, because there are really many variations of fresh or seasoned; they can also cut small slices and vacuum-pack them. Here too it was full of people with the same intent as me.

Un advice: if you have one of those cool bags complete with cooler tablets, it's ideal for the journey; having left particular ricotta and robiole there, my heart cried ...
