Eating in Rimini during the fairs

The advice of those who live there in Rimini to eat well piadina, fish and meat without spending a fortune and above all by recommending interesting places for the price and quality.

A few days ago a friend of mine asked me where her husband could eat during a fair that was held in Rimini. In fact I have never written a post like this and in fact I know a lot of restaurants in my city, also because I love eating out.

Eating in Rimini during the fairs

Rimini is very popular with those who come to participate in an event, a fair (from that of tourism, to Ecomondo, just to name a couple) to more worldly events, such as Network Festival. I often hear some banality, like that the best piadina in Rimini is ... and down names of places that I don't even know, where I've never eaten in my life, famous or known only because they are a stone's throw from the event in which some blogger or speaker participates.

So, I decided to give my contribution and some advice, which will certainly not be the only or the most important, but at least it is a advice based on experience of those who eat 365 days a year in Rimini - or at least when they are not traveling.

Where to eat piadina in Rimini

Choosing where to eat a piadina is not as complicated as choosing a fish restaurant. The cost is more or less the same everywhere, only proximity and personal taste changes. For example, I have changed "taste" in recent years, or perhaps it would be better to say that some piadinerie over the years, renewing themselves and changing management, have changed the taste of wraps.

We often talk about Lella, in my opinion excellent and open all year round (in the headquarters in via Covignano 96 there is also a place to sit, but don't expect the service), Casina del Bosco, open only in summer so do not consider it for fairs even if it is excellent in my opinion and with good service (via Beccadelli 15), Nud and Crud, valid because there is room to sit, but also because it is located in the center (the only one in this case) and therefore close to potential hotels (via Tiberio 27). The other piadinerie like Bar Ilde or Le Fotanelle which are special for me, as well as being closed in winter, they are all out of the way for those staying in the center or by the sea.

Where to eat fish in Rimini

Let's open this other chapter! There is fish in Rimini, it is good and should be eaten: D
Personally I recommend to those who come for fairs / events to go to the Trattoria la Marianna (via Tiberio 19), located in Borgo San Giuliano, or to go to The Puraza (via Sant'Aquilina 2) in this case, however, the restaurant is practically on the highway to San Marino, so either by car or taxi.

In my opinion, Trattoria la Marianna is a great place for those who want to eat well and locally, order the passatelli dry or in broth if they have them, and spend the right amount, with 25€ eat well and are satisfied. La Puraza is a huge place, so if you want to eat with 20 other people, you will always find a place here. The restaurant is very nice and the dishes are also uncommon, plenty of raw fish and good service. Price a little above average, ideal for formal dinners.

I would recommend other places as well, but some of my favorites or some of the ones that I had been better at recently they have changed management, so rather than sending you to a place I'm not entirely sure about, I just stick to these two choices. I eat fish usually in Riccione, but I believe that those who come to Rimini for work do not have a great desire to take a taxi and drive miles and miles to eat fish, my consideration. And if you have time and desire, I give you some other advice in the paragraph on the places that I think are worthwhile even if out of the way.

Where to eat meat in Rimini

Meat is also eaten very well in Rimini and there are restaurants specializing only in this, suitable for dinners for tables or more people. Among my favorites Tiresias (via XX Settembre) which offers excellent wines and good meat, large and also particular place, internal garden, is located in front of the Arch of Augustus, in the historic center. I don't add other names at the moment because as I said before, better one "done well" than 10 chosen just to name names.

Places that are worth while out of the way

I have always imagined, especially because I'm the first to do it when I'm in another city for work, that after a busy day you don't feel too eager to walk who knows how far to eat a bite. Unless you want to try that restaurant most of us often choose where to spend the evening also and above all by proximity.

There are restaurants that in my opinion are worthwhile even if out of the way, where by out of the way I mean outside the historic center or in places that cannot be reached on foot because in isolated or distant streets. I should put La Puraza here, because it is actually a little out of the way, but it is a restaurant that I think is worth it. Without recommending places that deserve but are still really far and difficult to reach from the city center of Rimini, I would like to point out those that in my opinion have an edge.

Guido, the only Michelin star in Rimini, is located between Rimini and Riccione, on the sea, the star should be a guarantee, suitable for those who want to eat well even spending a little more than the norm (Lungomare Guido Spadazzi, 12).

Sol y Mar, my favorite fish restaurant, is located in Riccione, that's why I say it is out of the way, and has few places available, absolutely book even a few days in advance if you want to taste excellent dishes (Viale D'Annunzio, 190).

Fourth floor, is located in Rimini, hospital area, not easy to reach on foot, you should definitely take a taxi unless your hotel is around plant 80, then you are within walking distance (Via Chiabrera, 34).

If you are not satisfied with these tips, another post I recommend you read, also written by me, is where to eat in the typical trattorias of the Rimini hinterland.
