1 May in Rome: what to do besides the concert in Piazza San Giovanni

Rome it is perhaps the Italian city par excellence where to spend May 1st and there are many things that can be done during this day, also taking advantage of the bridge that 2013 grants us.

Obviously there is the concert in Piazza San Giovanni, which will see, as every year, famous and emerging artists perform in front of a warm audience. But besides the concert there are many interesting exhibits to see, such as the exhibition on Japan set up at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art where you can get to know and get closer to the culture and art of the Rising Sun. At Villa Torlonia, however, there is the opportunity to admire an exhibition dedicated to treasures of Louis XIV  inaugurated on the occasion of the week dedicated to French culture, but which will remain open to the public until 5 May.

Heart of cactus, How long is now, are the names of the theatrical programs proposed by the Elysée and the Vascello theater. While for cinema lovers until May 29th there will be an exhibition dedicated to Woody Allen at the Sinergy Art Studio with the projections of his most famous films.

Finally, for those looking for an alternative holiday to the Teatro dell'Orologio, a project by Daniele Timpano "Aldo morte_54" is on stage, or 54 days in which the artist spontaneously closes himself in a cell inside the theater from which he will leave only for to act. A sort of "Big Brother" in real time, a unique experience of its kind.

In addition to this, Rome offers millions of other opportunities also for those who want to spend the day outdoors, perhaps with a typical picnic on the grass taking advantage of the many villas that the city offers.
