How to get around in Rimini

How to get around in Rimini

Rimini is not a large metropolis but it can boast an efficient urban transport network and public services for those who want to move around the city.

In this post I will show you how to reach all the main places of interest such as the station, the airport, the historic center, the Rimini fair, the seafront and how to move around the city.

How to get around in Rimini?

    By bike
In Rimini there is a public bicycle service “Mi muovo in ciclo” which allows visitors to visit Rimini by bike.
There are 9 stations  with 97 parking columns and a total of 571 bicycles. Bicycles can be picked up in a station and stored, at the end of use, in another station at will (each station can be controlled in real time through the appropriate application).

    These are the cyclostations:

    22 parking posts
    Station 2 Arco D'augusto

In order to use the bicycles it is necessary to purchase the "Mi muovo in ciclismo" card online at the price of 5 euros (daily card) or at the price of 25 euros (annual card) which has already included 5 euros of recharge for use of bikes and the insurance fee. The price of the use of the bicycle is free for the first half hour, every next half hour until the third hour costs 0.80 cents, over the third hour until the 24th hour it costs 2 euros per hour. The rental bike service is active every day from 6:00 to 24:00.

Getting around by bicycle in Rimini is very convenient as the whole city has numerous cycle paths where you can pedal in peace and reach the main places of interest.

    By bus
To move by bus within Rimini, there are 3 main lines: la line no. 11 which runs along the entire Rimini seafront. Starting from the historic center of Rimini, a few steps from the station, it passes through some fractions of Rimini such as Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra and Miramare and then reaches Riccione and back. Most of the hotels in Rimini are located on the seafront or in the streets behind you so if you are staying near the sea take this line.

Line 19 and 18: these are the two Rimini circulars (19 circular left and 18 right circular) that go around the inside of the city, passing through the hospital, the train station and the historic center.
These are the main lines for visiting the city.

If you have to reach it Rimini airport it is necessary to take from the train station the num. 124 which stops near the entrance. If you have to reach the Fiera di Rimini you need to take the line num. 9 always from the train station.

    I ticket prices the following:

    Zone 1 ticket 60 min € 1,20
    Zone 1-2 ticket 75 min € 2,00
    Zone 1-2-3 ticket 90 min € 2,80
    24 hour day ticket € 5,00
    3-day 72-hour ticket € 9,00
    7-day ticket 168 hours € 17,00

The 2,00 euro ticket is the most common and the one that allows you to get around most areas of Rimini by bus. In all tickets there is the possibility of being able to change all the bus lines you prefer in that period.

Where to buy tickets?: at all newsstands and tobacconists in the city or on board directly from the bus driver but beware .. the price is higher!

If you are on holiday in Rimini during the summer and want to reach the discos by bus there is bus service Blue line active until 7 am every day for the price of 3-4 euros each way.

    By train:
The Rimini station is located in the historic center so if you travel by train and need to reach the center you can do it on foot. In Rimini there are the following train stops: Rimini Fiera, Rimini (central station), Rimini Miramare.

If you have to go to Rimini Fair I recommend you take the train and not the bus. The cost of the train is about € 1,30 for a 3-minute journey! Convenient both for the price and for the time because you avoid any kind of traffic.

    By car:
The highway to reach Rimini is the A14 and there are two toll booths: Rimini north and Rimini South. Rimini North it is possible to reach the following hamlets: San Giuliano, Rivabella, Viserba, Viserbella, Torre Pedrera and the Rimini Fair. Exiting at the toll booth of Rimini South you can reach: Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra, Miramare and Rimini Airport.

    By taxi:
The taxi is the most expensive means of transport as for a route from the seafront to the Rimini station the cost is about 15-20 euros and the distance is a few km. It is the most not recommended way due to the price, but in case of need to call a taxi in Rimini the number is: 0541-50020.
