Volume, where to have breakfast in Florence

After reading the great review on The Breakfast Review I decided that Volume, in piazza Santo Spirito a Firenze, would have been the first stop on my Florentine Saturday. The local from the outside it doesn't seem like anything special, moreover the day was rainy so no one occupied the outdoor seats, but it is enough to cross the threshold that the warm atmosphere invites you to go further and sit down.

The inside really is particolare, most of the objects belonged to the owner of the carpentry who was here previously, his are the wooden sculptures on display and his are the tools of the trade that enrich this place. The tables are surrounded by the most varied armchairs and stools and at the bottom you can see the small stage with wall piano which welcomes guests on many evenings.

With regard to the breakfast, the satisfaction was great, Cappuccino good and brioche more than excellent: soft and with an abundant filling. The choice is great: in the display case you can find a mountain of croissants, biscuits, sweet and savory pies, mini sandwiches and other goodies. The biggest surprise is the price, starting with coffee which costs only € 0,80, the croissants € 1 while the cappuccino only € 1,20. However, you can also come to Volume for lunch, atappetizer or even to eat just an ice cream.

Although we are in Florence, a city that is not exactly cheap, just cross the Arno to find yourself in a quiet and less beaten by tourists, which retains the charm of the past, where there are places like this where it is easy to save a few euros.
