Casa & Bottega in Rome, prefer coffee for lunch

Home & Shop is located in via dei Coronari 183 just a stone's throw from the Made Bakery I told you about a few months ago. Personally, despite the beauty of this little place that is located in the heart of Rome a few steps from Navona Square I strongly advise against it for lunches and aperitifs. While if you want to taste a coffee in the center of Rome in a nice place this is ideal.

Casa & Bottega had been looking down on it for a while but I had never stopped so on a hot Saturday day I decided to stop for lunch. The slate that is inside and outside the room shows the dishes of the day without prices. No menu is given when you sit down and what arrives at the table is definitely of good-looking ma nothing in particular in taste.

Il local is delicious, there is nothing to say about this. Beautiful interiors, nice bathroom, nice and interesting pictures on the walls. Everything makes you want to stay indefinitely, the staff is kind and courteous, the owner of the shop who is a little less at the checkout.

In all this there would be nothing wrong if the final price was appropriate to the lunch carried out. A Coke in a can is 4 €. A plate of carpaccio, salad and mozzarella 13 €, the total for one person it is 19€. Also I have personally heard the prices at the table increase poor foreigners who had accidentally sat at the tables outside. A gentleman of I do not know what nationality exactly, came back with the receipt in hand asking for explanations, the answer of a waiter to the lady (almost certainly the owner of the restaurant) of the cash desk was "get him 13 € go".

Not to mention that I don't think it's allowed in a public place don't put even one of the prices of the dishes and drinks. The place deserves and I recommend it for a coffee, at most a breakfast, but don't get caught up in other strange cravings, It's not worth it.
