Where to sleep in Krakow: Globtroter Guest House review

The review of the Globtroter guesthouse in Krakow, the best place to sleep in the city center of the city of Poland. If you are looking for low cost accommodation in Krakow, the Globtroter is the right place for you: welcoming and full of services.

I was looking for an accommodation that was very central, comfortable and above all low cost in the city of Krakow for the first days of December. Globtroter it was exactly what I was looking for: practically around the corner from the main square Rynek Główny, very comfortable and really cheap.

Globtroter in Krakow: the structure

In fact, for three nights, in a beautiful and warm double in the middle of the flea markets, the total cost was really affordable. The guesthouse is furnished in a retro style, all in wood but with every modern comfort. It is located in a building with balconies in a pure Tyrolean mood. The surprise of crossing the threshold of an anonymous door and finding oneself in a internal courtyard with snow-covered gardens and a facade covered with vines, it was really great!

The interior is wonderfully warm (it was freezing cold outside) large, quiet and comfortable. Developed on multiple levels, reachable by an ancient wooden staircase.

Attention to detail

The Globtroter guesthouse has private bathrooms with shower and courtesy kit. Satellite TV with flat screen placed, mind you, not on any piece of furniture, but on an old Singer sewing machine! A small table leaning against the window, overlooking the lovely snow-covered garden, was the added value of this living room.

There is no breakfast but amenities include an electric kettle, cups, and filters for coffee, tea, and chocolates. Also on the first floor there is a shared refrigerator where to place milk, yogurt, etc. Change of towels and sheets on request. The pension also has a suggestive common area entirely covered in stone. Here you can organize meetings, lunches, play billiards or table tennis. Obviously the Wi-fi there is, it is fully functional and is included in the room rate.

Tours organized by the Krakow Globtroter

I really appreciated the hospitality and the willingness of the staff to provide any information, even from home in Italy, indicating places to see, travel times and curiosities about Krakow. On request Globtroter organizes tour to visit Auschwitz, Wieliczka Salt Mine or simple city walking tours to discover the beautiful old town of Krakow.

My first impression was that of a clean and well-kept property, despite the somewhat dated furnishings, but overall pleasant overall. The highlight of the Globtroter is absolutely the position: Rynek Główny (or Old Market) square is the heart of Krakow, a city known as the Capital of Culture of Poland.

Bars and streets in the surroundings

Furthermore, within a radius of fifty meters, the choice of places to have a good breakfast or dinner in a modern, vintage or typical atmosphere of this beautiful European city is vast and diversified. Needless to say, the main attractions are also within walking distance of the pension and in the circle of walls that surround the historic center of Krakow: via Florianska the shopping street with international brands, the Wawel Castle perched on a hill overlooking the river, a large selection of museums and art galleries, churches and basilicas.

La Globtroter guesthouse it turned out to be a pleasant discovery that allowed me to visit Krakow in comfort and absolutely in low cost mode!
