City of Science: reopening on 7 November

City of Science: reopening on 7 November

After 8 months finally City of Science is ready to reopen: the inauguration will be held on 7 November at 17 and we will start with Futuro Remoto, an exhibition that annually attracts many visitors. Godfather of the evening Alessandro Cecchi Paone.

Monday March 4 2013 it is a date that no one can forget: CittĂ  della Scienza is razed to the ground by a great arson, extinguished by five fire brigade teams who have worked for over 16 hours. Once the flames have subsided and the fumes disappeared, the result is chilling: four of the six warehouses are inexistent, only the skeletons remain. There is no longer anything that remembers what CittĂ  della Scienza actually was: only dust and rubble from that structure that instead had been the flagship of Naples and all of Southern Italy. Only two years earlier, the President of the Republic Napolitano had awarded a special medal for ten years of activity; in 2010 for Eurispes it is among the 100 Italian excellences.

The theme of show, now in its XXVII edition, is dedicated to the Human Brain: “Let's start again with the Brain” will allow its visitors to enter a simulating organ structure. The exhibition, divided into six exhibition spaces including: “the dynamics of the brain”, “Wired-connections” and “An electrical storm”. At the same time, the “Cubs and Eggs of Dinosaurs” exhibition will also be inaugurated: an exhibition dedicated to the little ones set up in the Marie Curie pavilion.
