River cruise on the Danube between Budapest and Vienna

River cruise on the Danube between Budapest and Vienna

Budapest and Vienna, two cities currently very different, however, the historical ties that have united these places and that have led to cultural, artistic-architectural and culinary contaminations are strongly perceived.

To get to know these two capitals better, deepen these elements of continuity and perhaps add a slightly particular variant to the typical city break, it is possible to take advantage of the proposed Mahart Pass Ship which in the summer organizes river cruises on the Danube.

It is possible to exploit this possibility from April to September, the journey has a duration of around 6 hours and takes place in the morning, twice a week each way (from Vienna to Budapest and from Budapest to Vienna). In this way, perhaps in 7 days it is also possible to combine the two visits, creating a broader cultural path. The prices are 99 € from Budapest to Vienna, 109 € for the opposite and 125 € round trip whatever the departure, there are also discounts for children.

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to personally try this experience, however I think it is a wonderful opportunity even if not extremely low-cost, but it certainly allows you to rediscover the slow rhythms of river navigation, enjoying unusual landscape perspectives in little-known territories.
