Munich, besides Oktoberfest, there is more

Munich is not just Oktoberfest, but much more. In Munich you can surf at the Englischer Garten, have a beer in a historic pub, in an outdoor beer garden or go surfing, yes you read that right.

Monaco is a beautiful city and known especially for the big one Oktoberfest party which takes place every year from mid-September until the first weekend of October. But in Munich there is not only Oktoberfest and above all Munich is also beautiful in many other times of the year, perhaps even more beautiful if possible. That's the reason for this post, and that's why I invite you to visit Munich also in May, July and November. You will not regret it.

Munich, besides Oktoberfest, there is more

There are many good reasons to visit Munich at other times of the year too, not least the breweries that here they are beautiful and it is worthwhile to visit them even during the days of the great Oktoberfest beer festival so as not to always stay in the HB tents. You will find fewer tourists and more atmosphere. A beer tour everything to taste and enjoy.

Among the breweries that I recommend I cannot fail to mention Andechser am Dom it is located on Weinstrasse near Msrienplatz. This brewery is located behind the cathedral and is open from 10am to 1am although the kitchen closes at 23pm. There is a small area with outdoor seating for those who want to drink in the garden, the beer is made by monks and it is very affordable.

Bratwurstherzl it is located in Dreifaltigkeitsplatz, also not very far from Marienplatz and is open from 10 to 23 even if the kitchen closes at 21.30. The atmosphere is very familiar and the warm and peaceful environment, sausage and beer and traditional Bavarian dishes at excellent prices.

Another great brewery you can find in Munich? Obviously the inevitable HB of Monaco, here is a post from the tour I did in Munich in this pub with an ancient and also a bit dark history. The last piece of advice I give you from this point of view is in relation to this splendid beer garden, it's a short walk from Oktoberfest but I've only met Germans here and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever found in Munich.

A green corner in which to eat really good and cheap dishes. The atAugustiner Keller the beer here comes only 7 €, while at Oktoberfest, who has been there knows it well, is € 10 per mug! So, have I convinced you?

If you are still not happy and in addition to the breweries you want to explore the city again and in a different way, I suggest you take a trip to theEnglish garden, the largest park in Munich and one of the largest in Europe. Here you can relax, have a beer and eat Bavarian, walk until you get lost and finally admire who can surf in this corner of the world.

For a trip that doesn't want to stop only at the culinary aspect of the city, I also recommend a visit to the museums. Here there are splendid ones, first of all the Neue Pinakothek which is located in front of another large museum, la Alte Pinakothek. On some occasions the Neue Pinakothek offers visitors entry to only 1 €, and it is a good excuse to go out of some brewery and go and see some splendid paintings displayed here.
