    Eating at Pomod'Oro, in Rimini

A restaurant I go back to often and happy to eat is the Tomato.

The Pomod'Oro is a country farmhouse, immersed in the green hills of Rimini, away from traffic and city stress, where stopping to eat creates pleasure for the palate and mind ..

The room is located in Covignano area, above the Galvanina water plant in via della Torretta, 4. The restaurant offers ample parking for cars and motorcycles and is not difficult to reach. Going up Via Covignano there are step-by-step indications that lead to the entrance to the parking lot.

The farm is a particular place, at the entrance you are greeted by a plasterboard scaffolding that represents a old country village where you then enter the restaurant. Once you enter you will find yourself immersed in a somewhat magical "countryside" landscape ... tables set among lights, trees, hay balls, tomato gardens, tomato preserves, jars of tomatoes in oil, open kitchen and wooden houses here and there (for those who want to eat indoors) that make the atmosphere comfortable and suggestive.

The menu has a wide variety of choices including burgers, piadina, cold cuts, hand-prepared first courses (pappa al pomodoro and highly recommended taglietelle al ragu), grilled meat main courses, pizza, homemade desserts, artisanal ice creams and house beer. All delicious! Once the order is placed, while you wait, something to tease is always brought to the table such as fried zucchini flowers or a variety of freshly picked tomatoes. The prices, in my opinion, are fair. A first course costs about 6-7 euros, a second course starts at 8 euros for two large sausages up to around twenty euros for the fillet. The pizzas are priced at the Rimini standard, between 4-5 euros for the classic ones up to a maximum of 7 euros for the very stuffed ones. The portions are right, not too abundant as happens in most farmhouses and not too small. THE prices are average taking into consideration the qualities of the fresh products they use.

The Pomod'Oro is also suitable for families as between the tomato gardens there is the “Gran Teatro” for children where small puppet shows or fairy tales are organized weekly with a trained staff. Your children will certainly not be bored!

If you are a tomato lover like me, in this restaurant you can buy their tomato sauce preserves or jars of tomatoes in oil. Pomod'oro represents the traction and innovation of Romagna cuisine!
