In recent days I found myself taking a tour of various agri-food companies in the Modena area and so I also found myself staying for one night in the area of Maranello. To tell the truth, I didn't know where my colleagues would take me, as I didn't care about the organization.
Eventually here they lead me to Maranello Village, a residential complex and hotel created by the Ferrari team for all its managers and also drivers. I admit that I was not aware of its existence and the surprise was evident.
I am passionate about Formula 1, in a healthy and sporty way (not as a fan) and therefore it made a certain effect on me to check in at a very particular reception, that is a red desk with a real Ferrari competition.
Of course, everything is in a 'racing' setting, with the single-seater engines in the reception, blow-ups of the various single-seaters and Ferrari road cars everywhere. Even a normal waiting sofa becomes aStop & Go', making us think of when the single-seaters stop during the pit races for a lightning change of tires.
THEMaranello Village hotel it is really beautiful and is located in the Modenese countryside. My room was also more than comfortable, definitely of a high standard. If I had had time I would certainly have taken advantage of popping into both Paddock restaurant (inside the complex) and al Ferrari museum in via Dino Ferrari in Maranello.
Unfortunately, my stay was also very 'Stop & Go', but I plan to take a tour of the Ferrari museum sooner or later. Browsing the website www.hotelmaranellovillage.com there is no shortage of offers. So if you are interested in a weekend among the reds, why not take a ride?
