Magic Fountain of Barcelona, timetables

I have been living for ten years now a Barcelona and for me the magic fountain it is like the Duomo of Milan. I always see a lot of people around us, I hear the music, the surprised screams of the people watching it, but I haven't stopped enjoying the show for years now.
Clearly the comparison with the Duomo is more about the one with a monument that is now so familiar to us that it goes almost unnoticed, until one day we come across it almost by chance and remain enchanted, especially remembering the first time we have seen it.
So, also considering the fact that I work five minutes from Plaza Spain, I decided to take a walk, follow the flow of tourists who look up their noses on the map or smartphone, find a place with good visibility and watch the magic fountain show, as I did ten years ago when I arrived in Barcelona for the first time and everything seemed new and beautiful to me.

The Magic Fountain, today a tourist attraction beloved by the many tourists who come to the city, was built and inaugurated in the distant past 19 Maggio 1929, during the Great Universal Exhibition. Considering the time, it was an almost Pharanoic work, above all because it was commissioned to the architect Carles Buigas only one year before the exhibition opens. In fact, most of the experts considered the project too ambitious and impossible to carry out in time. Over three thousand workers were hired to be able to carry out the work and "almost as if by magic", less than a year later the magic fountain was ready for its grand opening. Initially there were only the plays of water and colors (up to 30 different combinations), while the music was inserted in the eighties. For the Olympic Games then, like most of the city, it underwent a complete restoration, even if it must be considered that it retains most of the original mechanisms.

And then, it is a 'absolutely low cost attraction!
You pay nothing, you can walk there from anywhere in the city or just spend a metro ticket. You can also bring a drink and a toast to one of the most beautiful and welcoming cities in the Mediterranean.
