Exhibition of Italian cinema in Barcelona




    The Italians colonized Barcelona and therefore, how could they not also have a film festival all ours? In fact, the first edition of the "Barcelona Italian Film Festival“, Organized by the Istituto Luce of Cinecittà and which will be a guest of the Verdi cinemas in the Gracia district. The exhibition will take place from December 14 to 18 and wants to convert Barcelona into the main Spanish venue for the diffusion of Italian cinema.

    The films that will be screened in Barcelona are one selection of the best Italian cinema already hosted in the main festivals in the world: from Cannes to Locarno, from Venice to Toronto and which have not had and will not have, commercial distribution in Spain.

    Il program (which has not yet been published in detail) includes eight large films and eight short films (chosen from the 30 finalists of the Silver Ribbons), selected by film critics Gianni Canova and Maurizio Di Rienzo and three special screenings.

    Also, all the movies will come presented by the directors themselves and by the leading actors in order to bring the Barcelona public closer to quality Italian cinema. In the program we will therefore find the proposals of: Bernardo Bertolucci, Ferzan Ozpetek, Marco Tullio Giordana, Giuseppe Piccion, Daniele Ciprì, Nina Fuksas Leonardo Di Costanzo Edoardo Gabbriellini with David Maria Putortí. Among the special projects there will be the screening of the animated film "Pinocchio”With music by Lucio Dalla and illustrations by Lorenzo Mattotti, Pinocchio.



    The exhibition will be inaugurated by the presentation of the latest film by Ferzan Ozpetek "Magnificent presence", which will also be given the CSCI prize.
