The photo was taken on 2 October durante a weekend in Paris, with my girlfriend Simona. A beautiful surprise trip that she organized for me as a birthday present. We took a Hotel in Montmartre, the hotel Nation: excellent as a location, 50 meters from the Metro stop and very cheap, but for people capable of adapting to everything, as we are.
That morning we took the subway to Saint Germaine and from there we continued on foot to Notre Dame. It was one of the most beautiful walks we took in Paris, between beautiful buildings and bistros with outdoor seating. Cutting through the alleys we came to see Our Lady, on the other side of the Seine around 13pm. It goes without saying that we were hungry! So we decided to find a cheap, but quaint place to have lunch and then cross the bridge and visit the cathedral.
We slipped into one of the alleys behind us, rue Xavier Privas which came out right on Quai Saint Michel. On rue Privas, as in the whole neighborhood, you can find many restaurants and clubs, with almost all types of cuisine: French, Italian, Moroccan, Greek, to name just a few.
After a short search we decided to have lunch in the restaurant "the Savoyarde“, With typical French cuisine and tourist menu at 12 euros. Small appetizer, accompanied by a glass of French wine for an initial toast, an omelette, a second course of roast meat with chips and chocolate mousse for dessert.
Il place was very unique, the friendly staff and even if the courses were not very sophisticated or particular we were very good! A very valid alternative to the various McDonalds or Burger King!
While Simona was reading the menu, I got my Olympus Om10, analog, and I went outside the club to steal that shot. I am very happy that you enjoyed it because for me it is a dear memory and it is a photo that has given me many emozioni: when I took it and when I developed it, discovering that it was just as I had imagined it!
