    Well yes, theItaly it can also boast of primates with an all-Christmas flavor. Let's talk about living nativity scenes and, to be precise, that of Greccio. This small hamlet close by Rieti it hosted the first living nativity scene in the world, created in 1223 by St. Francis of Assisi himself. Every year you can attend a real theatrical performance that makes spectators relive the story of the birth of this splendid tradition. In reality much more than a living nativity scene, this historical re-enactment with its magnificent play of lights and a unique scenography turns out to be one of the most evocative Christmas events in Italy. The performances will take place on the following days: on December 24st 22.30 pm; 26 29 and December 17.45 pm; 1, and 5 6 January 2013 at 17.45 pm.

    But the beautiful country also boasts the primacy of the largest living nativity scene in the world by extension. This is the nativity scene of Genga, in the province of Ancona, and culminates in one of the most evocative frames that can exist: the Frasassi Caves. Extended on almost 30.000 square meters, boasts the collaboration of approx 300 figurants, locals, who work every year to set up this unique show of its kind. The cost of the ticket is € 5,00 and the proceeds from the event are donated to charitable associations or initiatives. Two performances this year: on December 26th and December 30th, from about 15.30 pm to 19.30 pm.
