Where to sleep low cost in Koh Samui, Thailand

The advice on some hotels personally tested where to sleep low cost in Koh Samui, an enchanting island in the Gulf of Thailand. Read hotel reviews and book your next trip to Thailand.

Consider that it is true that the Thailand it is on average cheap for us Italians, but Koh Samui it is a very touristy island and the prices are higher than in other areas of the nation.

I booked the hotels directly on site, day by day, choosing them based on location and cost. These are 2/3 star hotels with a good value for money and located in very central and convenient locations for both travel and proximity to the beach and restaurants.

Ark bar

This hotels it is practically a few steps from the very long and famous Chaweng beach, a place known for its nightlife and the many restaurants, bars and hotels. I definitely recommend it to those who want to have fun and party, because it is frequented above all by young people with these interests.

The hotel has three swimming pools, 4 bars, a restaurant and direct access to the beach, where there are sun beds reserved for guests. Each week the hotel organizes various events including a pool party and a beach party. Beach parties are something incredible. Hundreds of young people from all over the island gather to dance by the sea, listen to international DJs and watch fireworks on the beach.

The parties go on until morning. The rooms are clean and basic, although the price does not include breakfast or additional services. There are different categories and at different rates. The base price ranges from around 50 to 75 euros for a double room.

Chaweng Palace

This hotel is also located in Chaweng Beach, in central position. And this is its strong point, in addition to the price which is really affordable. In fact, we speak of little more than 20 euros per room.

I was quite surprised that the rooms are quite large, as is the bathroom. Obviously don't expect luxury rooms, but I found them clean and with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Just outside the hotel, you will be on the central street of Chaweng, full of restaurants, bars and clubs.

If you are a light sleeper, however, given the central location, this may not be the place for you.

Grand Thai House Resort

Another solution for low cost sleeping in Koh Samui is the Grand Thai House Resort.

I chose it because after trying two hotels in Chaweng, I also wanted to visit theLamai Beach area, a little quieter than the previous one. Lamai beach, which is very close to the hotel (just across the road), is very beautiful, with light sand. Less chaotic than that of Chaweng.

The hotel is located in a central area of Lamai, so even in this case, finding bars and restaurants where to dine will be very simple. You won't need to rent a scooter to get around the area.

The cost of a double is around 30 € and the rooms are large and nice, with balcony. Mine overlooked the hotel pool, which I was able to use on several occasions. Breakfast is not included in the price, but you can have it for a supplement. But I advise you to go and have it in one of the beach bars.
