Utrecht University: the 47th best in the world

THEUtrecht University was founded in 1636 and is one of the oldest universities in Holland, considered the best in the country, the nona of the best European universities and the 47th best world university. The university has 30.000 students and the life of the city of Utrecht is modeled, if not based, also on these young people who arrive and live here around 20/25 years of age.

The University was rebuilt in 1800 in Neo-Renaissance style, just as seen in the photo above, although in a square where all the buildings, including the Utrecht cathedral were in Gothic style it was a little out of place. This according to some architects than to make yourself into a some way spite, they decided to build an entrance to the cathedral garden in an exaggeratedly Gothic style, complete with monster-like Gothic motifs, directed against the university building.
