Fly to Brussels, the Smurfs turn 50

Fly to Brussels, the Smurfs turn 50

Schrtroumpf is the German name of our beloved smurfs, Smurf their English name. Who has never seen an episode of the magicians Smurfs?. In 1958 the Smurfs made their official appearance in a well-known cartoon of the time alongside a knight and his helper. Soon, however, these magical beings, such was their function in the cartoon then, became real meadowgonists in a cartoon of their own.

Initially they had to have a more pointed and green-colored hat, can you ever imagine them like this now? Luckily they left us our blue Smurfs with their white hats, except for the Papa Smurf.

In 2008 it was the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of the Smurfs, designed by the Belgian Pierre Culliford, Peyo. In Belgium there are many celebrations, cartoons and series revisited for the occasion. The Comics Museum dedicates a particular section to them and an entire exhibition traces their long career.

There is no better time to visit Belgium and the little big city of Brussels. With Ryanair and Easyjet take advantage of the offers and book a flight now. The Belgian Comics Center it hosts an exhibition and is open every day except Mondays from 10 to 18. I was in Brussels in 2008 and the Smurfs were everywhere, back in Italy I started collecting them, among others I discovered that it is a very common hobby, as my friends of the Joker Smurf.
