Who does not like to practice the kitesurf in the colder months, start pulling the wings out of the garage for a check before starting over. Andalusia - Tarifa
Usually when the words kitesurf and Spain one immediately thinks of Tarifa, the European capital of kitesurfing.
So let's start ours here spanish tour, from Andalusia, in the province of Cadiz, practically on the Strait of Gibraltar.
This particular position allows a Tarifa of being constantly exposed to the winds, the wide beaches, the shallow bay and the mild temperatures all year round do the rest.
The beaches where kitesurfing is practiced in Tarifa are mainly two:
Los Lances Beach, 9 km of white sand, with winds that can reach 30 knots. Flat sea in summer, while in winter wave lovers can also find 2 meters of wave.
Playa Valdevaqueros, 7 km from the center of Tarifa, therefore less crowded, surrounded by greenery and white sand.
Murcia
Going up into the Mediterranean Sea we stop in the area of Cartagena to look out over the lagoon of La Manga del Mar Menor. A location very similar to the Stagnone in Sicily, a large lagoon protected by a tongue of land and with an island in the center.

Valencian Community
In the areas around Valencia there are various spots where it is possible to practice kitesurfing, coming from the south the first one you meet is Alicante, where white sand beaches alternate with others where you have to pay attention to the rocks emerging from the shore.
Continuing north you arrive in Valencia, here you must pay close attention to the bathers who populate the beaches in summer, in fact there are restrictions in the busiest months.
Curious the spot of Playa del Pollo, in the locality of Cullera. It is a little frequented place, but it is one nudist beach, don't be surprised if you meet some.
Catalonia
Arrived at Barcelona, the best spots can be found in Costa Brava, north of the capital of Catalonia. All along the coast there are towns with wide beaches with various equipped centers that organize courses and rent equipment. They are also all tourist resorts, where you can find fun even in the evening, among the typical bars and discos.
Cantabria - Santander
Returning to the Atlantic Ocean, an area that we cannot fail to mention is the one around Santander, capital of Cantabria. The best known spot is that of Somo, also famous for the wave surfing. Here the Atlantic and the shape of the bay allow sustained winds all year round.
In Somo in particular, the summer thermal is almost always accessible, whatever your level. In winter, the days with wind from the North and North-West offer the best conditions.
Canary Islands
I have not forgotten to Tenerife, Fuerteventura e Lanzarote, the main islands of the Canary archipelago. I just kept them for last because they are the furthest away, but also very famous.
These locations are great for both beginners and those who want to progress quickly. The sun, heat and wind are constant for most of the year.
