Venice Beach: 3 places not to be missed

Venice Beach is a neighborhood known for its bohemian aspect: it surprises with its colors and its frenzy. Ready to visit Los Angeles' most famous downtown?

Venice Beach - located on the west coast of the United States - is one of the most famous and well-known neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Known for its "bohemian" aspect, it is a very important center of city life. Lively and sparkling, it manages to surprise you with its colors and its frenzy.
It is easily reachable from Los Angeles and nearby cities by bus or car. If you decide to stay in Venice I recommend: Su casa at Venice beach, delightful modern style aparthotel with ocean view rooms.

Venice Beach: 3 places not to be missed

1. The cycle path that runs alongside Venice Beach

Ocean front walk is a cycle and pedestrian path that runs along the Venice beach thanks to which you can easily walk to Santa Monica and Marina del Rey enjoying the view of the immense beaches that lead to the ocean.
Arriving in the morning along this street you will be surprised by the variety of stalls that line the beach: a mixture of scents, colors and cultures; where you can find paintings, bracelets, statues, crafts and much more but above all get lost among the wonderful murals and the lively melodies that resound throughout the street.

2. The shops of Marina del Rey

Continuing towards Marina del Rey you will find an infinity of shops full of souvenirs.
Venice Beach Skatepark, one of the most famous and largest in the area; Muscle Beach where you can train in the open air a few meters from the ocean and the Venice Beach Recreation Center with a basketball court that saw many of the greatest in the sport grow.
One of the most particular and characteristic things are the luxurious and above all strange houses along the beach: a variety of shapes, colors and materials that you have never seen before. Not only along the beach, but also in the city center there are strange buildings like the one in the shape of binoculars designed by architect Frank Gehry.

3. Visit to the Canals of Venice Beach

My favorite part of Venice are the famous Canals which are located in the historic district in the city center called Venice Canal Historic District conceived in the early 900s to recreate the typical atmosphere of Venice, with bridges, gondolas and attached gondoliers.
The houses along the banks of the canals are mostly colored wooden houses or decorated with murals, it will be easy to see among the canals the colorful boats or canoes that the inhabitants use to move around.

For dining, there are many restaurants and bars along the beach, especially fast food and Mexican restaurants; there are many evenings with concerts of various musical genres to entertain the public.
Mostly at sunset you can grasp the true essence of Venice: the beach fills up, the sun begins to set, the Ocean Front Walk swarms with young people on bicycles or skateboards. All citizens and tourists united, who hurry to admire the wonderful spectacle of the sunset among the palm trees. Venice, thanks to the young people, lives until late at night, until dawn when a new day begins for the street vendors who are eager to prepare their stalls. This is the true essence of the city: young and sparkling, it never stops.
