The Cantuccio

Located in the heart of Bologna a few meters from Via Indipendenza, Il Cantuccio is a restaurant that I discovered a few years ago but which has become a fixed appointment for special occasions.

The place is small, intimate and very welcoming. The staff is always friendly and helpful, even if they are always very full. The manager likes to tell the dishes and treat customers like old friends. The menu practically does not exist, the manager and the staff are all living menus. Ask and it will be given to you. The strong point of the restaurant is undoubtedly the tasting of appetizers which, if desired, can also be served individually. But, do not doubt, here it is not a question of a tasting made of tastings, but it is a question of real dishes, abundant, of excellent quality and one more interesting than the other. You will have a hard time eating them all, believe me. The lady in the kitchen (Apulian if I'm not mistaken) has really fairy hands.



Ask to taste some raw langoustines before starting, they are spectacular and very fresh, I cannot do without them. Remember to book as it is really difficult to find a free table on weekends. Better if you can go there in the middle of the week. If you have a little space left at the end of the meal, ask for some sweets. Those too are fabulous. Maybe you will be tight but your palate will thank you. Medium / high price but well deserved given the abundance.

Sikelia restaurant

Fish cuisine, but also of land, traditional and of high quality. The environment is nice even if perhaps not very intimate and personal. The staff is very kind even if a little set up, in any case totally at the customer's service and better than an encyclopedia for the explanation of the dishes and their origin. Good big hot and cold appetizer, especially if you like to taste many different flavors (I love it). However here I was impressed in particular by the first courses, really tasty and the right unexpected in the combinations. The desserts are also delicious and very beautiful, so leave the necessary space. Excellent wines.
If you want great fish, this restaurant will not disappoint.

Osteria Il Cannone

What will strike you here will surely be the creativity of the dishes. There is nothing obvious on the menu or off the menu. The restaurant is a tavern revisited in a refined way, the furniture combines retro style and contemporary mood. The staff are very friendly, which never hurts and, again, these are living menus that can provide great advice.
The seasonal products are the masters here (you will also find fragrant dishes based on truffles during its season) and the freshness of the ingredients is certainly a strong point. The menu therefore varies monthly and when fish is part of it you can be sure that it is fish with a capital P.
You will find some taste of raw, very tasty first courses and special second courses. I recently ate an amazing monkfish there.
Particular flavors, perfectly balanced and unexpected combinations. Well-kept dishes and flowers popping up everywhere. Absolutely to try.
