Turin, what to do on the weekend

Un weekend in Turin di 48 hours it is a weekend that runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The best way to see the whole city, admire its monuments, visit the most important cafes, eat at the Quadrilatero or the Granda in the middle of bread and shop for chocolate and drink coffee.

Turin is one elegant city, clean, beautiful and not too big, if you want to move mostly in the city center you will not have to buy cards or various things, you just need to move on foot. If nothing else, you will be able to see the whole city, savor its scents and see the interesting past.

What to see in Turin. Absolutely the Mole and its cinema's Museum. The museum will take you away a few hours, so if you don't have time you can also skip it and go directly with the elevator to the terrace of the Mole, the ticket is reduced even if in my opinion the Cinema Museum deserves. Another thing I recommend you to see in Turin is the beautiful one Piazza San Carlo, also called the living room of Italy with its cafes, all to try (obviously if you don't suffer from high blood pressure!). Porta Palazzo and its market are to be seen, do not believe those who say it is a dangerous place, of course if I were you I would avoid going alone at night, especially if you are a woman (but like anywhere else in the world), but a tour of day at the beautiful market, especially the covered one is a must. Instead, avoid the Turin Eye, a little expensive for a 15 minute ride up and down, but if you are keen on high views, go for it. A stop at Egyptian museum can't miss it if you are passionate, it is the second in the world after Cairo, but remember that if you don't take headphones (€ 4) the museum is only worth half!

Where to sleep in Turin? I recommend theHotel San Paolo, even if not right in the center, it has a great welcome and a good breakfast. For a b & b in the center try the instead Cavour b & b and if you want to overdo it

But let's talk about serious things, what do you eat in Turin? The Turin flavors are exceptional, strong at the right point and genuine, from raw meat to bagna cauda nothing is missing to satisfy the desire for taste and healthy food that is found in each of us! The place I recommend to eat and spend the evening is the Quadrilateral Roman. For example, here is theAcino, where I ate the best raw meat and the best overcooked Barolo ever. Also recommend Low 30, it is always found in the Quadrilatero Romano, soft lights and excellent dishes.

Outside the Quadrilatero there are other places that are obviously worth mentioning. Turin is a truly multicultural city, Al Andalus it's a restaurant where you eat taijin of veal and plums and couscous in the lunch break all for € 10. Another restaurant that I recommend is The papillae, new place in the Liberty area of Turin, a fast food but with typical Piedmontese dishes, a welcoming and very vintage place. Finally to try is La Granda in the middle of bread a kind of fast food but all Italian with Piedmontese meat and really super desserts. I've been here twice already and if I had to go back to Turin for another lunch I certainly wouldn't miss it.

After the meal comes the most beautiful, it is the time for dessert and coffee. Where to go to get the best coffee in Turin? I recommend St. Thomas 10, the first shop / bar in Lavazza history to be built in this street. To have a historic coffee, not really a coffee, but the famous bicerin it is good to go where it was born, At Bicerin. Here the bicerin is € 5 and generally it is difficult to sit down because the place is really small. If, on the other hand, you want to be comfortable for a while, Piazza Castello is located Baratti & Milan, truly a place where sugars and taste are not lacking. You will spend a little more but believe me it will be worth it. To eat somegreat chocolate in Turin vi I recommend 2 places: from Guido Castagna to from Guido Gobino.

What to do outside Turin, here is a small itinerary for those who want see the Langhe ;)

A curiosity, in Turin there is a tall and very narrow building, the inhabitants of the city call this Polenta Palace because of its appearance. It was also inhabited inside, if I were you, I wouldn't miss it.
