The Serpentine Gallery in London

    The Serpentine Gallery in London

A London culture is low cost. Many museums and art galleries are free. Among these there is a small one, and little known to the great Italian public, but which every summer makes people talk about itself. And the serpentine Gallery, an exhibition space located in Kensington Gardens, one of the great urban parks of the city, the one where Kensington Palace is also located, the official residence of William and Kate.

If you are passing by for a visit to the palace, or if you want to take a break or a picnic, if you are a jogging fanatic and love to take a walk in the park in the morning (which is recommended for the favorable climate and they tell me the " beautiful people ”hanging out there!), or if you want to have a trendy aperitif, you can stop and see the Serpentine Gallery.

In tea pavilion, a masonry building from 1934, works and installations by contemporary artists are exhibited, but the most interesting part is the temporary external pavilion, which, from 2000 to today, has seen the signature of the most important world star architects. This year's was designed byJapanese architect Sou Fujimoto and it looks like a big white cloud dropped in the green English lawn. The very simple structure blends in with the context and seems to float lightly on the ground.

Under the white fence there is a cafe with tables and chairs and it is also possible to get on and sit quietly to enjoy the tranquility of the park, while outside, on the streets of London, everyone runs fast.

Worth noting for fashion victims and lovers of social life who every year, in June, a party is held which seems to be the best of the London summer, where you can meet celebrities, models, actors and where fashion shows also take place. This year, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova were present, just to mention the most famous, and a light show was held in the pavilion. For which mark this stage for your tour of the British capital.
