Every year at the end of April, Amsterdam hosts the biggest street party known: the King's Day. This is an incredible event, full of 'gezellig' atmosphere that involves the whole city and attracts a lot of people from all over Holland but above all from the world.
The preparation of the city begins many weeks before and walking through the streets you immediately realize how everything is slowly changing to start the party. First King's Day
This year, after hundreds of years, is the first festival of the King: the April 26 2014 it will in fact be remembered over time as the first party entirely dedicated to the king. Willem Alexander, the sovereign of the Netherlands, is in fact the first man to have ascended the throne since 1890, after the succession of so many queens. This makes everything even more sparkling!
