Osteria del Garanghelo: where not to eat in Venice

THEOsteria del Garanghelo is located in Calle Dei Botteri and is the place where I dined two nights ago, my vote? A poor 3 and a half, really bad the service, the dishes and the place. From start to finish I don't think there was a salvable thing about dinner. I guess the venue has changed management because the reviews on TripAdvisor and others are good until 2010/2011 then they go down a lot. I warn you, if I were you I would avoid it.

    1. Timetables. We arrived at about 21 pm at 22 pm there was no longer anyone in the room, at 22.30 they had closed the shutter, with us inside that we were finishing dinner. It seemed they were in an absurd rush to close, we went out at 23pm when there was only one waiter doing the math. During the dinner as soon as we finished a dish was immediately taken away, the plate of fries was taken away with some potatoes still in the plate.

    2. The dishes. The menu is rather inviting, it is a pity that the dishes do not reflect what it says. My fillet with green pepper (pictured above) had to be well cooked, it was rare. To my friend the ravioli with semi di papavero they were brought without poppy seeds. Basically simple butter and sage ravioli. The wine was the only decent thing, I say decent because there really isn't a huge choice.

    3. The venue. The place is very nice, I think it is the only thing that can be saved from the evening, but do not be duped by the fake rustic style, here everything is fast that it can't be faster.

Il price was sky high, we spent about € 29 each to really eat nothing and the environment was not at all nice. Bad experience, also because once we told the waiter that our dishes were not the "right" ones justification it was a “you had to say it before you wanted poppy seeds” thing: O Never mind.
