Milan: child-proof Ambrosian carnival

A party dedicated to children that of Milan Carnival 2013 celebrated with parades, floats and music that takes place on different dates than in all of Italy, to better observe the Ambrosian rite.

The most important day is the  Fat Saturday and the party is all about children. It takes place in the five main squares, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza San Fedele, Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Fontana and Piazza della Scala, which are transformed for the occasion into play areas all dedicated to children.

Il Milan Clown Festival  will take place from 13 to 16 February 2013 and among the events there will also be the great parade of floats, which on Saturday will cross the streets of the center starting from early afternoon and the walkway of traditional Milanese masks, Cecca e Meneghino.

On 15 and 16 February the Officine Creative Ansaldo, in via Tortona, propose CanreMvale, with attractions and games, while the Steam Factory, in via Procaccini 4, is ready to offer carnival music and entertainment.

Carnival is also a delightful occasion to indulge in a greedy break based on Chatter e tortelli.

La San Carlo pastry shop, A few steps from church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, perhaps it is the best in the making of tortelli in all their variations.

While remaining in the historic center, in Corso Matteotti, there is the historic pastry shop Sant ambroeus, quite expensive, but trying their desserts and pastries is worth it. In the winter it's hot chocolate with vanilla flavor is fabulous.
