Mester restaurant in Budapest: where not to eat

Mester restaurant in Budapest: where not to eat

Site in the homonymous Mester utca, a street not very central but not too peripheral, a five-minute walk from the Mercure / Budapest Duna hotel, the Mester restaurant it is equipped with external tables, but external in the sense of almost in the street. The cars parked with their noses five centimeters from our chairs, heavy traffic and trams passing by and having fun. Poor service, with few clumsy waiters who didn't understand Italian and pretended not to speak or understand English. Water served in jugs, hot, without ice and with an unpleasant taste. Cheesy, heavy, greasy, greasy and low quality foods.

To "cheer" the evening there was also a band that as soon as they realized we were a group of Italians, began to play O Sole Mio. The singer, finished the song, went to the tables to take the offer, after which the the whole complex disappeared and never showed up again (evidently the 50 euros he earned was enough for him and advanced !!)

The interior of the restaurant looked clean enough, but small and infused with a strong fried onion smell. The bathroom available was unique. Don't ask me how it was, I lacked the courage to go check it out.

Absolutely not recommended, unless you are starving and have not found a place in any other restaurant in the city!
