Markets in Palermo: Ballarò, Vucciria, il Capo

One of the coolest things to do in Palermo is getting lost in its markets, between Ballarò (very famous), Vucciria e the boss you are spoiled for choice. Here is a short list of the things you can find in these three markets and one of mine personal advice for each of these.

Vucciria is the oldest and most popular market in Palermo it extends from Caracciolo Square in the streets around. A market made up more of clothes and clothing than fruit and vegetables. For those looking for clothing it is the ideal market. The advice is to leave to arrive in the nearby Piazza Caracciolo.

The boss it is certainly one of the busiest markets in the city, it extends from Door Carini all the way around. My advice is to walk the entire market from Porta Carini to the inner streets of the neighborhood and get to the Cathedral of Palermo. For this neighborhood you will meet many hidden churches and a lively market full of fruit, vegetables and lots of fresh fish!

Ballarò it is the popular market par excellence. The market is located near the station, it enters the area parallel to the via Maqueda mountain side up to Piazza Casa Professa. One of the truest markets in Palermo, in every sense. The most heartfelt advice is not to go around in the evening and alone in this area, but only for the market and during the day.
