    Mambo - Modern Art in Bologna



    Il MAMBO and the Museum of Modern Art of Bologna and is located in Via Don Minzoni 14 a stone's throw from the most central streets of the city but also five minutes from the train station.

    It is the seat of the Institution Bologna Musei dedicated to contemporary art and is located in the curious building of the former Forno del Pane. The Mambo is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 12.00 to 18.00, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 12.00 to 20.00, while it is closed on Mondays.

    This gallery is characterized primarily by one Permanent Collection which crosses the history of art in Italy from 1950 to today. Furthermore, the Morandiana Collection creates a link between the city of Bologna and the museum, thanks also to the continuous growth of the pieces on display. Since 2012, the exhibition has been structured around nine different thematic areas.

    In addition, at this moment the Mambo proposes two temporary exhibitions. The first is entitled "Bas Jan Ader. Between two worlds”, And it is a retrospective dedicated to Bas Jan Ander aimed at deepening his unique creative personality through the themes that most characterized him and which are: melancholy, man / nature relationship and movement. The second temporary exhibition is instead "Face to Face ”by Mario Cerioli. The will of this event is the celebration of Cerioli's inexhaustible inventiveness. The title also refers to the confrontation between man and god inspired by the great central hall of the Mambo which will remind many of a cathedral.



    It is possible to access the museum (Permanent Collection and Temporary Exhibitions) with a full ticket at € 6,00 and reduced to € 4,00. Children up to 18 years and university students can enter with a reduced ticket.
