Lyon with children: 3 parks to see

Lyon with children, the three parks that you cannot miss if you want to take a trip to France, in the beautiful city of Lyon. Here is a list with addresses of the three funniest parks in the city.

Looking around and observing, from a distance, how much the life of my friends has changed with the arrival of children, I began to reflect on a question that, in view of a hypothetical future as a mother, I consider of fundamental importance: how the conception evolves of travel when traveling with very young children? If, when you were carefree, you booked a ticket with your eyes closed for any destination and by any means, how much does the presence of your children affect the choice of travel program?

I am sure I travel in family with children it is a wonderful experience of sharing and discovery, and I can only imagine the difficulties encountered in satisfying the requests of the little ones. For example, once you arrive at the chosen place, what to do in order not to make the stay boring for children who, you know, are not very interested in churches of the '500, but much prefer to run, play and roll all the time on the ground?

The inspiration comes from a project called "playground around the corner", Which collects in a map that can be consulted online all the playgrounds in the world, to inform departing parents about the outdoor places in which to spend some time with the little ones and consider the trip not only in view" guided tours - lots of walking ”, but to understand it above all through the playful eyes of the children.

And so, living in Lyon, I thought of doing something “unusual” for me, something that I had never really given much importance to and that gave me the chance to discover different and new corners of the city. If you intend to take a tour in these parts, dear parents, I recommend you three parks not to be missed.

Parc de la Tête d'or

In the largest park in the city, the Parc de la Tête d'or, we find a large lake suitable for fun canoe rides among ducks, geese, ducks and other nice lake animals; A big Botanical Garden, complete with a greenhouse and tropical plants of all kinds, including carnivores; a zoo park with animals of all kinds and species (zebras, crocodiles, ostriches, giraffes, bears, tigers) and a unique playground with a view of adorable fawns and lots of greenery. There are several attractions including slides and climbing, but there is also a covered space for children to roll around, all close to a mini-theater with performances of the Guignol puppet and the inevitable Viennese carousel. I confess that, seeing the children playing and laughing, I too wanted to go back to being a child to enjoy all that great carefree doing.

Parc des Hauteurs

Moving to the other side of the city, in the west, taking advantage of a visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Fourvière with city panorama attached, you can choose to take a break in Parc des Hauters, crossing the Passerelle des 4 Ventes, which offers exceptional views and lots of nature. The park itself offers only an attraction and swings, but it is an excellent compromise between the tourist needs of the parents and the playful ones of the children, as it is immersed in one of the most visited points of the city.

Parc Sergent Blandan

To the south, 17 hectares of green paradise give life to Parc Sergent Blandan, one of my favorites as it favors sport and entertainment for adults and children: there is an efficient sports room accessible to all; football, volleyball, basketball and table tennis fields; a skater park also equipped for rollers and scooters and two playgrounds, one of which I would dare to say avant-garde with enormous indoor slides about two meters high!

Maybe I will seem to come down from the moon, but in my memories the playgrounds were those with two swings, a slide that burned if it stayed too long in the sun and it was necessary to wet it with water and the classic swings. But everything evolves, and it's nice to see children having fun and enjoy outdoor spaces so large and equipped in which to express themselves and involve parents too.
