Here we are, le Olympics are winding down, but there is still a long weekend ahead of you to savor the capital. What to do then?

The choice as always is difficult and the range of possibilities is infinite, but if you want to escape from the usual tourist routine made of Madame Tussauds - British Museum - Buckingham Palace and rediscover London, this is the right time. THE markets they are a good starting point, especially if you are looking for a "cheap" and interesting solution; at the top of my list of markets less touristy we absolutely find the Brixton Market, easily accessible from the Brixton underground station on the Victoria Line. Unlike the other markets, which have evolved to the tourist version of junk and dubious knick-knacks, it offers a good choice of stalls offering Caribbean, Indian, South American food and products and much more. For detailed information and timetables visit the website Brixton Market.

But if you are in the mood to spend a busier afternoon, but still outside, I recommend you take a stroll around the Speaker's corner (literally "The corner of the speakers"), located ad Hyde Park, near Marble Arch. Sunday morning is the peak time, but every day it is possible to take part in debates of various kinds and types or even arm yourself with a chair and a shrill voice and give your speech in front of passers-by.

For lovers of long walks like me I recommend one of the self guided tours proposed on the site, where you are provided with all the necessary information to be able to make different types of walks through the streets of this wonderful city, all without spending a poundto. My favorite is undoubtedly the "Bridges Walk", During which you can observe and photograph the bridges of London and the various attractions and monuments that overlook the Thames: absolutely one of the best ways to see London in all its beauty.
