Jackson Pollock at the Mirò Foundation in Barcelona

All elements that recall the great painter Jackson Pollock died in 1956 and who was one of the major representatives of the abstract expressionism technique also called Action Painting.     All projects Mirò Foundation, will be celebrated until 24 of February an exhibition dedicated to the brilliant American artist and painter entitled “Explosión! El Legado de Jackson Pollock ". The exhibition is organized by the Moderna Museet of Stockholm with the patronage of the Fundación BBVA.

    The exhibition aims to explore the continuation of the artistic phenomenon created by Pollock, through 70 works by 35 artists who worked - following Jackson Pollock's Action Painting technique - between the end of the 40s and the end of the 70s.

    Among others, the exhibition at the Mirò Foundation will present a exhibition of paintings d'Yves Klein, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Tinguely, Allan Kaprow, Andy Warhol, Lynda Benglis, Bruce Nauman, John Baldessari, Paul McCarthy, Herman Nitsch as well as exponents of the Gutai group such as Akira Kanayama and Saburo Murakami.
