Halloween in Barcelona, ​​the altars of the cultural association Mexico - Catalunya




    One of the most interesting initiatives for Halloween a Barcelona, is the all-Mexican proposal of the association MEXCAT (Mexico - Catalunya cultural association). It is called “Memoria Viva” and was created to popularize the Mexican tradition of pre-Columbian origin of the day of the dead.

    These are real festivity, during which they build altars where to deposit floral and food offerings to pay tribute to their dead or to illustrious people who have passed away.
    For the past six years, the Mexican community of Barcelona has shared this ancient, colorful and meaningful tradition with the city that hosts them.

    There are many altars that will be exhibited around the city. Among these we find for example those of various Mexican restaurants such as, la Machito winery and Chido One, but also other types of entities such as the Mexican consulate or Casa America.
