1 - Trapani and the Saline

Trapani it is a wonderful city and already in the center you can taste all of Sicily, from local food, to the sea to the monuments. A few minutes from the historic center there is an accessible beach open to the public called Lido San Giuliano, further on is the paid beach full of lidos and games for children and fully equipped with parking, cabins and restaurants on the beach.
For history lovers, you can visit the Pepoli Regional Museum. Especially not to be missed are the Saline di Trapani and Paceco. Reaching them is very easy, just take the SP21 provincial road, and from there you will find the various signs with exits and parking lots. From July to September it is possible also attend the salt harvest which takes place using the traditional method of the culture of Trapani, inside there is also a museum where all the relics and testimonies of previous generations are collected.

3 - Erice

Erice It is one of the most beautiful medieval villages of western Sicily, overlooking the Gulf of Trapani from above and enjoying breathtaking views. You can comfortably climb by car to the top, where, at the entrance of the town, there is a large parking lot, or live the experience of funivia and enjoy the panorama and the local flora and fauna from above. The main attractions are The castle of Venus, where you pay the entrance starting from 4 euros and free for children, and the Cathedral of Erice which is free. But the peculiarity of the place lies in the medieval alleys, often a place for fairs and themed representations.


4 - Egadi Islands

The Egadi Islands they are very close to Trapani. You can achieve wonders like Favignana, Marettimo e Levanzo, also through day trips. 5 - Oriented Natural Reserve of the Zingaro

La Zingaro Nature Reserve it extends for 7 km between Castellamare del Golfo and San Vito lo Capo. Admission to the reserve is subject to charges, but children under 10 do not pay. Generally the Zingaro is not a place purely suitable for families. However, if your kids are already of a certain age (7-8 years) and they are nature lovers and exploration, they will love the reserve's fantastic trails. The reserve has two entrances, the one most suitable for families is located on the side closest to San Vito Lo Capo. Entering the reserve from the San Vito side, you will find it immediately Cala Tonnarella (about 15/20 minutes walk), easily accessible even by younger children. Then from here you can decide to continue for Cala dell'Uzzo up to Prehistoric cave. If, on the other hand, you access from Scopello, the quieter and easily accessible cove is only after 800 meters and is called Cala Capreria, but it is rather small and usually very crowded. It is advisable to stock up on water and food before or upon arrival at the Reserve as it is difficult to find supplies along the way.



6 - The beaches for children in the province
