Eating Mexican in Rome, El Pueblo

Eating Mexican in Rome, El Pueblo

Last night I went to a Mexican restaurant in Rome and I ate very well! I had already been to Florence at Tijuana but the food there was a little Americanized, very Tex-Mex. In Rome, on the other hand, I found something much more similar to the Mexican tradition, according to the owner who explained to me a bit how he manages the place.

The restaurant does The village and the menu I got is called the pre-Columbian menu and it comes 44 € to be divided in two, as well as the menu. At first glance this thing about the division of the menu made me strange but then I realized that it was needed to taste all the courses without arriving with "water in the throat".

I tasted pozole, corn and chorizo soup, Albondingas meatballs seasoned with olives and onion and cactus leaves, Quesadilla de huitlacoche tortilia stuffed with mushroom with cheese and sour cream e Rajas with queso, fresh sheep cheese covered with chile chipotle and Meat en adobo, pork stew with a typical chile ancho and sesame sauce.

A real discovery this place that left me satisfied even in the choice of the menu, a spicy chocolate dessert :) For drinks I got a couple of light Mexican beers for € 5 each. The restaurant is located a little outside the center of Rome but can be reached by all means, the nearest metro is Valle Aurelia.

My dinner was offered by RegalOne.
