Eat well but low cost in Marina di Ravenna


Do you love fish and large portions? Do you have a fearless stomach? You can't help but try this restaurant: excellent and low cost.

A few weeks ago my partner and I were in Marina di Ravenna, to spend a beautiful day at the sea, driven by the beautiful sun and fresh air. But, since we love to combine good food with feeling good, spread out in the sun, we asked a local friend to recommend a restaurant where you could eat fish well, in abundance and without being plucked.

The restaurant is located in the port area, in Viale delle Nazioni 51.
When we arrived, hunger was felt so, consulting the extensive menu, we decided to order a hot mixed appetizer, to be divided in half, and two plates of white spaghetti allo scoglio with shellfish.

The smell that came from the kitchen and from the neighboring tables was definitely inviting.
Once the dishes arrived we understood why the owner, when ordering, had asked us if we were sure we wanted to eat all those things.

The portions of the restaurant

The hot mixed starter, which for them was a portion for one, included sautéed mussels and clams, steamed mantis shrimp and many, but many, whole fried crabs with a fry that made them super fragrant and made sure that I could eat every part, leaving nothing at all.

The quantity was such that, if we were not very hungry, but it was not, we could have satiated only with this appetizer in half, at a cost of 16 or 18 €, if I'm not mistaken.

But our stomachs are fearless, so the first one also arrived, served in a giant pan placed at the center of the table, with excellent tasty spaghetti that had made that delicious creamy cream that few can do and a lot, but a lot, fish.

And by that I mean there was more fish than pasta, not the usual fifteen clams and three prawns. Above all, in addition to scampi, prawns, squid, really good, clams, mussels, and other fish, gigantic claws and even the little body stood out, perfect cooking, of what we have been told to be commonly called blue crab, which was so good that I would eat it again and again to no end.


 

Ah, they will provide you with a very useful and nice adult size bib, tongs and all the rest, because eating, especially the crab, will be a mess and a pleasure at the same time.

A low cost trattoria

It was hard to finish almost everything, I have to admit, almost a challenge, but it was really, really good.
Total expense for a giant hot mixed starter, spaghetti allo scoglio for two, 1 liter of house white wine, water and two sorbets, € 74 total. And if you had seen the portions, you would understand how cheap it was to eat at this restaurant which turned out to be a great find.


Also, as we ate our dishes, we really saw many other interesting and inviting ones passing by. So it will be absolutely to try again.


The staff were really kind and professional, who treated us with courtesy and sympathy.

And then, you can always indulge in a sound nap on the beach, while digesting. Stuffed and tanned. We only stuffed though, because we are two inveterate pallidoni. :)
