Wild and fresh, with its woods and its lighthouses, it offers breathtaking scenery, which must absolutely be a destination for anyone who decides to go to this Balearic island.
Let's find out what the jeep gives in addition to generic buses, cars or bicycles.
First of all it is suitable for any type of terrain and territory, being open it allows you to have a broader view of what is manifesting in front of your eyes, hosting from 6 to 8 people allows groups to get to know and share a beautiful experience together.

Then the guide or the driver can give explanations that are audible by all as the spaces are limited. Lastly, it lends itself a lot to an adventurous tour, so you have fun being an absolutely witty and bizarre vehicle: everyone get up when you go off-road and enjoy the wind, but watch out for the branches of the trees!
The steps that can be done are different, among these we propose the following.

    • Camì de Cavalls: a splendid 185 km long route, which runs throughout the island. You can see people on horseback or even just a herd. Illustrative panels help you not to get lost along the route.
    • Santa Ponc quarry: a quarry of gray and white limestone, used in various ways in the past, now closed because it has been replaced by concrete for the same functions.
    • Monte Toro: a mountain 357 m. high, which houses a watchtower and a convent of nuns. The highest mountain in Menorca.
    • San Roca: the largest private forest in Menorca. Construction began here in an absolutely illegal way in the early 90s. Today, being a protected area, it can no longer be built.

Treat yourself with breaks, perhaps for lunch at the restaurants adjacent to the many farms scattered in the hinterland of the island. Try the local products, such as the Maho cheese, awarded last year "Spanish cheese of the year", the Carniciua salami with black and white pepper, the paella with cuttlefish ink, very good and very special, the Pomada, that is the native drink of English origin: a measure of gin and lemonade.

Finally, an aspect in common with the other Balearic islands, the long beaches and the crystalline sea, which represents a particularity of the archipelago, due to the presence of poseidonia, the marine plant which, oxygenating the water, cleans it, thus giving it a unique transparency. To list some of the most beautiful beaches in Menorca.

    • the bay of Santo Tomas: suitable for families with small children, with fine white sand, located in the south
    • Arenal d'en Castell: red beach, to the north-east, a little more difficult to reach and with few services
    • Son Bou: the longest beach on the island, easy to reach, not far from Santo Tomas. The surroundings also allow for walks to the village of Son Bou itself, but bring a bottle of water, there are no bars along the way!

An island suitable for families and couples, perhaps a little less for those who just want to have fun. A highly recommended place to enjoy an aperitif at sunset and the nightlife is the Cave, but make sure before it is open, because it is not crowded all year round, indeed, sometimes only in July and August.
