Discovering the East London area

    Discovering the East London area

If you are a London and you want to explore a part of the city off the beaten track, I recommend the East area, that is the one that extends between Liverpool Street, Brick Lane and Old Street, a north of the City. In recent years this area has undergone a significant revaluation and enjoys a truly particular vitality. New clubs, restaurants, clubs open every week and many artists, creatives and musicians they seem to have moved to this part of London.

If you want to start with an English breakfast you can stop by The Breakfast Club (Old Street stop, 2-4 Rufus Street) where you can taste a perfect English Breakfast with sausage, bacon, beans or a more American pancake with syrup, as well as a remarkable choice of sandwiches.

La Sunday the Sunday Up Market in Brick Lane (open from 10 to 5 Liverpool Street stop) where you can find stalls of all kinds: vintage clothes and accessories, t-shirts and objects of the strangest, very suitable for a gift or simply perfect to enrich your wardrobe with something eccentric and extravagant. Inside the market you will find stands that prepare food of all kinds, ideal if you want to have a snack while wandering among the stalls. Close to Brick Lane, you will also find it Spitafields Market, Other indoor market full of curiosities and objects.

It recently opened the Box Park, near the Shoreditch High Street Overground stop, which is a pop-up shopping mall with various tracks that will remain open for a specified time. It is said to be the first in the world.

If you are a fan of music you can't miss the Rough Trade Shop, historic record shop in London, where in addition to CDs of all musical genres and gems that cannot be found in Italy, there is the possibility of vinyls and dj equipment, as well as books and a bar where you can enjoy a hot coffee.

If you want to stay for dinner in the area you can try some great noodles at the restaurant Busaba: With £ 10-15 you will gorge yourself well. I recommend the coconut rice and curry dishes, very good. Many vegetarian dishes are also available. The curiosity of this place is that you will be seated at huge square tables with unknown prefects, the atmosphere is very nice. (Old Street stop, 319 Old Street)

If you are not tired yet you can take it a pint in one of the many clubs that are present in this area. I recommend theHoxton square kitcken bar, restaurant / pub / bar where there are often concerts and evenings. On Saturday evenings, entry is free and there is a large dance floor with all kinds of music. There clientele is mixed and quite alternative, but not pretentious (Old Street subway stop, Hoxton square)

If you fancy a good cocktail you can turn the corner and always in Hoxton Square you will find it Zigfrid von Underbelly, a small but very nice place with attention to detail, with an excellent choice of drinks.

To end the evening dancing, open for just over a year, you can visit it Xoyo. The venue is small and minimalist, but some of the biggest electronic music DJs played here between 2010 and 2011 (Cassius, A-Trak to name a few) and you never know you may come across a particular night or a concert. (Old Street stop, 32-37 Cowper Street).

Another very nice place is the Book Club, (Old Street stop, 100 Leonard Street), in addition to serving food and drinks, you will also find a room to play table football or board games. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, with a vintage theme and conferences, exhibitions or other cultural activities take place soon, in addition to music of the DJs present every evening.

In addition to the places just mentioned, I recommend you explore the area, almost all the clubs have free admission and the beauty is to discover new ones letting yourself be guided by instinct. Enjoy.
