Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city

Civita di Bagnoregio, Also called The City that Dies, was inserted within the Most beautiful villages in Italy for its suggestive position and because every year it is a destination for tourists and onlookers. The peculiarity of this village is that it can only be reached through a long and steep bridge, nothing else.

Currently the dying city is inhabited by 6 people. It is so called because theerosion of the hill on which the Borgo is built meant that the only meeting point with the surrounding cities was this reinforced concrete bridge built only in 1965. It has always been accessible only on foot, although recently, to meet the needs of those who live and work here, it has also been possible to reach Civita with cycles and motorcycles.

Inside the Borgo there are many abandoned houses even if kept in perfect condition. Many i restaurants and the bars, to be honest, it doesn't look like a dying city at all. I know they find tourists and the locals are frequented, but it is also true that tourism here leaves the time it finds, certainly you don't stay there, at most you spend a pleasant afternoon or a day extended by a lunch.

Entering here is absolutely free, some houses are really beautiful and you would almost want to live there. Curiosity: it is full of cats!
