Aaria bed and breakfast: where to sleep in Finland

A delightful B&B within walking distance of Santa Claus Village in Finnish Lapland, Rovaniemi. A unique accommodation for a trip with children and more. Ready to really get to know the people of this magical place?

I had already introduced you to the possibility of a low-cost and do-it-yourself trip to Finland, in this post. I also mentioned a place to sleep in Rovaniemi (Lapland), different from the usual ones that feel around here and cheaper. Today I want to explain it better: in the meantime, get ready for a fairytale atmosphere and many outdoor activities!

The Aaria Bed and Breakfast in Rovaniemi

We have chosen a different accommodation from the big sad, cold and impersonal Soviet-style hotels that characterize the center of Rovaniemi and which are usually chosen by tour operators. Well, first of all we chose not to go with a tour operator. Our choice therefore fell on one more solution intimate and domestic, welcoming and not onerous: and so we found the b & b Aaria, built in 2001 and renovated in 2008. This is why, specifically, we recommend you to stay in this really interesting Hotel.

The owners are very kind and the structure is very welcoming and well furnished. Inside it also has one sauna (for a fee): imagine a cold day that ends in the warmth of an intimate hotel, perhaps with a break in the sauna! Are you daydreaming?

The structure is all in wood and has 5 doubles, 2 lofts, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen. There is wireless and a common room with fireplace.

The Aaria bed and breakfast is located near the center (therefore you need your own means) and is located about ten minutes drive from the Village of Santa Claus. The thrill of visiting this place is truly indescribable, both with children and adults only! The Ounasvaara ski center is across the street: a real convenience, isn't it?

Aaria will allow you to get to know the real inhabitants of Rovaniemi (real besides Santa Claus, of course) in a delightfully domestic and intimate atmosphere. In the morning you will be served a continental breakfast, or, of your choice, enjoy one classic Finnish breakfast. I recommend the latter, so as to fully immerse yourself in the Finnish atmosphere and style, also for what concerns the food side.

Look forward to the warmth and relaxation of the common area with TV and fireplace but also the fun you could experience by renting ice skates, sleds or bicycles: all activities that in Finland acquire an added value, guaranteed.

The prices of Aaria

It is clear that even here the high season is definitely more expensive than the others. The Christmas season, which runs until January 9, becomes more expensive, but children are entitled to great discounts. The summer season, from 1 May to 31 August, is the cheapest one, it could in fact be an interesting alternative to the classic visit in the winter period.

We, who have been there, can only recommend this place. For those who come in Lapland it is certainly one of the best solutions: considering the comfort, the intimacy of the structure, the quality and the price.
So, are you ready to get to know the capital of Lapland? Also famous for being the “official” hometown of Santa Claus!
