A Christmas of flavors in the Castelli Romani, in Lazio




    A Christmas event not to be missed in the heart of the Castelli Romani is what the Borgo San Michele di Mount Compass. In medieval village of the castle town (600 meters above sea level and about 12.000 inhabitants) Saturday 15 December, from 18.30, an itinerary through the alleys and squares of Monte Compatri will be the setting for food and wine tastings of typical dishes of the Roman tradition.

    Will 8 the culinary stationse: farmer's soup; local cheeses; local cured meats; strucinati broccoli (cooked with sauté and potatoes); grilled meat; fried Christmas; traditional local Christmas desserts (donuts, tozzetti, pangialli and polenta pizza); vinbrulé, local wines and donuts. The cost of the tasting will be 10€ and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Parish of Monte Compatri for the renovation of the Cathedral.

    Maps and maps of the medieval village of Monte Compatri will be printed with the "tasting stops". At the start of the route a block consisting of colored sheets will be distributed and one will be torn off at each station. The itinerary is characterized by a splendid one view of Rome and along the alleys and squares interested artists will play and propose live Christmas music.
