4 free things to do in Cortina d'Ampezzo and surroundings

Cortina d'Ampezzo, the pearl of the dolomites, is worthy of its name not only for the beauty of its enchanting natural landscape, but also for its costs, for whatever.

But it is still possible to enjoy some things for free, without necessarily going to pass out, and still enjoy the show.
Here I want to give 4 suggestions who don't even ask for a cent:

    - 2 steps in the main street, full of (expensive) shops of all kinds and great for providing temporary shelter if you are frozen from head to toe.

    - visit the characteristic ice stadium, where the local and important hockey team plays and where you can (for a fee) rent skates and jump on the rink. The stadium is particularly noteworthy for its all-wood grandstands, which gives the structure a special, slightly retro vibe.

    - rise to 1750 meters of the lake of Misurina (about 15 minutes by road), where the 3 Cime di Lavaredo are reflected in the summer and totally frozen and covered with snow in the winter. In a short hour you can do the complete tour through a delightful path.

    - from there, or directly from Cortina, go towards dobbiaco. The road that connects the northern end of Veneto with the South Tyrolean Val Pusteria finds a passage in the middle of the Dolomites and their woods, in a spectacular landscape both in winter and in summer.
