3 Christmas Markets in London

Three London Christmas Markets that you can't miss during the Christmas holidays. The best of the markets during the holidays to find gifts but also to get a gift from the magical city of London, read here.

London It is for me a fantastic city and a special place that has given me a lot in the last 3 years. I still remember that the first thing I saw as soon as I arrived were the markets. I had heard so much about it: come on clothes vintageto all exotic foods that you could taste, which I later discovered in spite of myself make a stomach ache, but they are so inviting.

All year round i Markets in London they are one of the main attractions for tourists and for Londoners themselves, although of course Londoners, well we Londoners :-) prefer those a little off the beaten path. Apparently there are about 32 markets in London and one day I would like to say that I have visited them all. Modestly they are already well under way.

    3 Christmas Markets in London

With the beginning of the period preceding the Christmas, so from about first December some of the Christmas markets in London become even more fascinating, adorned with wonderful lights and decorations and enriched by new stands that generally join the market only during this period.

Typical Christmas products are sold in the famous London markets, from tree decorations of Christmas, up to many different objects, perfect for a Christmas present. Plus the usual mulled wine never fails. In short, all the most famous markets in London try to transform themselves to the best and adapt to the Christmas spirit.

Markets such as those of P in west London, or the flea market Covent Garden in the center, or one of my favorites, Brick Lane, in my beloved East London, are transformed for Christmas, giving a magical atmosphere and offering the possibility to buy unique Christmas gifts and taste Christmas treats around the world, but there is more. In London there are various markets that come open especially for Christmas, the typical Christmas markets.

Winter Wonderland ad Hyde Park. The whole market is inspired by the typical German Christmas markets. It is located in a large area of Hyde Park and attracts many visitors every year. It is perhaps one of the most touristic, but it is really worth going there. I highly recommend going there during the week and avoiding the weekend.

Among the various stands there are many decorations, Christmas gadgets, Christmas trees, fantastic gift ideas and many Christmas products from all over the world. There are more than 100 stand and obviously the food is not lacking. In particular there is the Bavarian village where you can taste German sausages and excellent beer. Do not forget the paid attractions such as the beautiful ice rink. A little expensive, but one ice skating it always makes a lot of Christmas. Don't forget to cover up as it's freezing in London lately.

My other favorite Christmas market is obviously an East London market Columbia Road, the street that hosts the very famous flower market every Sunday, it is open every Wednesday until 21pm exclusively for the Christmas period. Columbia Road is one of the most famous streets, ancient and characteristic of London.

You are well 60 small shops independent and unique that for the Christmas period are not only open on Sunday, but also an extra day. The little street becomes even more fascinating and magical and its little shops are truly special. An unmissable destination for all those who snub downtown chain stores and are looking for a unique gift. On Sundays, the flower market is also not to be missed, as always, especially for those looking for Christmas trees and Christmas plants.

The third is Spitalfield Market, not far from the areas beaten by Jack the Ripper ;-) Even this market is one of the oldest and although not purely Christmas, it is open all year round, hosting live concerts of Christmas music and tasting events.
